QuickReview: Nivea Lip Butter in Vanilla&Macadamia Kiss

Oh, Mr.Sun why didn't you shine today?!Oh well, guess MAC face&body review will just have to wait until tomorrow as the review just wouldn't be any darn good without proper swatches and photos.
Onto something a little more related to the title, I finally got my hands on a Nivea lip butter!&I must say I can see what all the buzz is about! It's smooth, moisturizing and smells divine.

[yummy yummy smelling goodness!]
The formula's smooth and nicely rich. My lips have been feeling horrible lately since the indoor heating has been on blast due to the colder weather and this lip butter has brought them back to normal human conditions :P I've been using this every night before bed since I picked it up and I must say it's a joy for both the moisturizing properties and the yummy yummy smell. It smells just like I had hoped it would very creamy and vanilla-like but with a delectable nutty edge..derrrlicious! As for taste it doesn't really taste like much maybe a bit of slightly sweet petroleum, not good but not bad.  The only thing I don't like about this is the method of application, dipping my finger into a tin and contaminating it>.<makes me cringe just a little but the amazing smell makes me forgive that little factor and keeps me slathering it on my lips.

[Ingredients: petrolatum, polyglyceryl-3, diisostearate, butyrospermom
parkii (Shea) butter, ricinus communis (castor) seed oil, prunus
amygdalus dulcis (sweet almond) oil, water, glycerin, glyceryl
glucoside, BHT, flavor, titanium dioxide, iron oxides]
I found Macadamia Kiss along with Raspberry Rose&Smooth Kiss at my local Rite Aid for $3.99 each in a display in the lotion aisle. Odd, huh? I thought so too. Available in drugstores near you prices may vary.

PROS
smells delicious
richly moisturizing
portable
CONS
Unsanitary application

Not a whole lot of negatives here besides the open pot but that's just my personal preference :)
Have you tried any of the lip butters? What are your cold weather lip staples?

  1. I've never tried the lip butter but really like their regular lip balm. It's a good brand.
