Review: MAC Cleanse Off Oil

Meet one of my skincare staples, it goes by the name of MAC Cleanse Off Oil.
This oil and I might not have the longest relationship, a year and some change, but  it's been a very happy and steady one.
Description from the MAC website

An industry-strength oil-based makeup remover that's gentle on the skin. Botanically formulated with oils of olive fruit, evening primrose and jojoba seed and absolutely 100 percent mineral-oil free. Massages onto the skin to loosen all makeup, including waterproof mascara. Emulsifies into a lotion-type liquid with water: rinses off easily, no tissues required - and no residue! Protects with vitamin E. Skin softening and conditioning. Good for all skin types.

..and that's exactly what I use it as, an makeup remover. It's brilliant! Removes even the most stubborn long wearing formulas and comes in a sturdy bottle with a pump dispenser that also locks if you turn the pump nozzle to the left. The only thing I can nitpick about the packaging is that the pump isn't very easily controlled, you either get a full pump or nothing at all. None of that half, quarter, or 16/25 pumps. Which kind of stinks but hey can't have everything, right?
I use the oil strictly as a makeup remover and not a cleanser, I always follow up with my Clarisonic and whatever cleanser I have on hand  mostly because I'm terrified the oil with break me out though that's never happened. I apply to dry dry skin, rub it around to loose the makeup, add water, smush it around some more and then rinse. It rinses cleans and doesn't dry out my already quite dry combination skin but I always cleanse&moisturize afterwards.
[Before water]
[After]
It pumps out as a clear oil with a slight yellowy tinge to the color, it doesn't have a very strong scent to my nose and turns into an milky liquid as soon as it comes in contact with water.
Cleanse Off Oil is available from both online as well as instore from MAC and in two sizes. A travel size which is 3o ml/1 oz for $10 or full sized at 150 ml/5 oz for $28.

Overall, I really really like this oil but not love quite yet so I'm going to try a different oil in the future, (Shu, i'm looking at you!) but for the price and effectiveness of this product I couldn't recommend this one enough. Would I repurchase? YES!..if the future oil doesn't work out :P
How do you remove your warpaint? Do you have a cleansing oil of choice?

QuickReview: Nivea Lip Butter in Vanilla&Macadamia Kiss

Oh, Mr.Sun why didn't you shine today?!Oh well, guess MAC face&body review will just have to wait until tomorrow as the review just wouldn't be any darn good without proper swatches and photos.
Onto something a little more related to the title, I finally got my hands on a Nivea lip butter!&I must say I can see what all the buzz is about! It's smooth, moisturizing and smells divine.

[yummy yummy smelling goodness!]
The formula's smooth and nicely rich. My lips have been feeling horrible lately since the indoor heating has been on blast due to the colder weather and this lip butter has brought them back to normal human conditions :P I've been using this every night before bed since I picked it up and I must say it's a joy for both the moisturizing properties and the yummy yummy smell. It smells just like I had hoped it would very creamy and vanilla-like but with a delectable nutty edge..derrrlicious! As for taste it doesn't really taste like much maybe a bit of slightly sweet petroleum, not good but not bad.  The only thing I don't like about this is the method of application, dipping my finger into a tin and contaminating it>.<makes me cringe just a little but the amazing smell makes me forgive that little factor and keeps me slathering it on my lips.

[Ingredients: petrolatum, polyglyceryl-3, diisostearate, butyrospermom
parkii (Shea) butter, ricinus communis (castor) seed oil, prunus
amygdalus dulcis (sweet almond) oil, water, glycerin, glyceryl
glucoside, BHT, flavor, titanium dioxide, iron oxides]
I found Macadamia Kiss along with Raspberry Rose&Smooth Kiss at my local Rite Aid for $3.99 each in a display in the lotion aisle. Odd, huh? I thought so too. Available in drugstores near you prices may vary.

PROS
smells delicious
richly moisturizing
portable
CONS
Unsanitary application

Not a whole lot of negatives here besides the open pot but that's just my personal preference :)
Have you tried any of the lip butters? What are your cold weather lip staples?

Monthly Favorites: Drugstore Edition!

Every month I really enjoy seeing/reading about what other people's monthly favorites are so I thought i'd post one of my very own. Most of my favorites this month happened to be from the drugstore so I thought I'd just leave out the high end/department store stuff and make this monthly favorites a drugstore edition :)
Aveeno Positively Radiant Moisturizer with SPF15 :I picked this little bottle up for an absolute steal at my local Costco, I paid only $14(with coupon) for a twin pack! I haven't been using this for more than two months but so far I really do like it. It's quite moisturizing, has SPF, looks great under my makeup, and doesn't break me out! WIN WIN WIN. There are, however, little sparkles in it which I don't really care for on most days but on the days my skin looks dull they really help to brighten everything up.All in all a win in my book.
Maybelline Color Tattoo 24hr Cream Eyeshadows: I'm sure you've heard quite a bit about these little beauties already so I won't bore you with details and just say I love these! I use them both as a base or all over the lid as a wash of color. My favorites are Pomegranate Punk, Tough as Taupe(mostly as a base), and Too Cool. They can be found at places like drugstores, Target, and Walmarts.
L'Oreal Infallible Eyeshadows: These have also been reviewed to death but for good reason! They're really quite amazing. My favorite so far is Bronzed Taupe<3
Biore Triple Action Astringent: This toner had made suuuch a difference to my skin! I had a small bout of acne that sprung out of the blue and this saved my face. During the three weeks I've been using this I've noticed my skin clearing up much faster than it normally would with my regular routine and I've also noticed that most pores are almost invisible even when scoured for in a magnified mirror! I can't sing it's praises enough so I'm gonna stop here before you jump ship!
Milani Mineral Blushes: I discovered these during a CVS run and raved about them here. These are fabulous, affordable, and a January favorite. End of story.

..and that's a wrap, friends! As always, thank you for reading!
What were some of your favorites this month?
